overhaul: new pistons, valves, big ends and mains re-metalled.
Milometer reading 1741. Done approximately 1140 miles since 2004 when the
restored car was put back into limited service.

22 May 10 The following image shows the white metalled nut in
the Swift Steering Box. The 4-start square thread poses a challenge if the
nut needs to be restored due to wear. The benefit of casting white metal around
the male shaft (or undersize dummy) rather than machining is clear. Was
the original finished with a tap or could it be done with the actual shaft (a
perfect zero clearance fit); what do you think? Please email me at

A website visitor has a spanner embossed with SWIFT (see image). The sizes are: 5" long, 1/4Whit and 1/8 stepped to 3/16Whit.
